Aaron Lynch's transfer waiver denied by NCAA

South Florida won?t benefit from Aaron Lynch?s talent?not this year, anyway.

Coach Skip Holtz announced Thursday that the NCAA denied Lynch, who transferred to the Bulls from Notre Dame, a waiver that would have made him immediately eligible. He will have to sit out and return to the field in 2013.

Lynch has three years of eligibility remaining.

The 6-6, 270-pound defensive end led Notre Dame with 5-1/2 sacks last season?as a freshman. However, during spring football, Lynch decided to transfer to be closer to home. Lynch is from Cape Coral, Fla.
